Going Strong
Glendale Tech Week has grown into a highly anticipated regional event since it's launched in 2016 as a public/private partnership between the City of Glendale and a number of private and non-profit institutions.
Tech Week continues to grow in momentum as more stakeholders join the movement that has seen Glendale emerge as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Our History
Extensive research, conducted in 2016, revealed that many of the City’s strengths (6-million square feet of office space, average salaries growing by 25% between 2003 and 2017, 3,500 new luxury apartment within the bustling downtown’s retail, dining and entertainment amenities) placed Glendale in an ideal position attract more startups to the area. This tech initiative resulted in a carefully laid out strategy to cultivate an ecosystem of innovation and prosperity for startups.
The next step was to develop an environment for knowledge sharing; places where local talent could go to innovate, inspire and meet one another. This was the jumping off point from which the City began developing Glendale’s startup ecosystem and Glendale Tech Week was born.
