With a strong connection to innovation and technology, Dr. Kyle Bruich’s passion for preparing students for college, career, and life is the driving force for the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) into the middle school curriculum for all students.
With a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA and Doctorate in Education from USC, Kyle Bruich has been the principal of Roosevelt Middle School for the past three years, serving prior as assistant principal at both the high school and middle school level in Glendale Unified and in Fontana USD. Though Bruich started his career as an English Teacher, he edited digital music and video for live industrial shows and promotional materials prior to working in education, which gives him a strong understanding of technology in entertainment. Dr. Bruich also is a level two certified Google Educator.
Roosevelt Middle School, which is transitioning to Roosevelt STEAM Academy, will serve as the District’s newest magnet school and the only magnet school at the middle school level. The school, which is located in South Glendale and serves students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 is a NASA Explorer Alumni School with a partnership with JPL that introduced robotics as a signature component of the school. As the school progresses to integrate STEAM, students use computer science, robotics, virtual reality, and augmented reality to have a more enriching educational experience. The magnet application for the school begins November 1st for prospective students.
